1/4 cup white vinegar | 1/4 teasp ground cloves |
1 small onion,grated | 2 tblsp cornflour |
1/4 cup sugar | 1 16oz can beets, sliced,drained and juice reserved |
1 teasp vanilla | 3 tblsp oil |
2 tblsp ketchup |
Mix vinegar, sugar, ketchup, cornflour, oil, onion, vanilla and clove in large saucepan. Add beets and 1 1/2 cups reserved juice.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
